Quilting Templates – For The Experienced And The Beginner Alike
A quilter can make anything from normal shapes and patterns, to very elaborate cascading shapes that look like they move while standing still. Having a great set of quilting templates will help an artist with their ability to easily express creativity.
Usually quilt projects are made for a particular individual. Maybe a new baby in the family sets the grandmother into quilt mode. Or many other reasons, like a marriage, the purchase of a new home can inspire the family quilter to spring into action.
With so many reasons to make another quilt, anyone that loves to make quilts can appreciate the tools of the trade. The most common in the arsenal would be a good set of quilting templates. These simple shapes made in hard plastic help the quilter to constantly create new and interesting shapes and patterns.
This opens up a whole new world of shapes and patterns for more choices during the creative process. By just placing the template under the fabric, and with a circular cutter just rolling the shape into being - that's the way to go. No more old style scissor cutting.
Having a store bought set of quilting templates will save you money and time. Not only will they make your cutting time go faster, but it will be more fun as you speed through that part of the quilting process.
They will save you money because you will not waste fabric material previously caused by poor cutting skill. This would cause one to throw away pieces when they are cut slightly off, then recognised as do-overs. Having the right tools of the trade can alleviate this. Also you can cut through more pieces this way than with hand cutting using a pair of large scissors.
